Another {365} Days

12/31/2014

Yet another {365} days have elapsed and we have orbited the sun once more.

{365} days ago I posted this blog, about the blog I posted {365} days before that.

With a new year rapidly approaching (T-12 Hours), I plan to restart my {365} project. 1 photo posted each day. Somewhat like a daily diary entry. How diaries are nothing like writing a novel, but writing to write. These photos are not looking to be a grand artistic gesture, but rather a small memory bank of another year of (my) life.

This year I will be working through my Instagram, rather than through my blog. Follow me anzasaurus, or follow the project (+ other silly pictures of my cats) online at: http://instagram.com/anzasaurus

Happy New Year, y'all!

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.” -NEIL GAIMAN

One year ago, I wrote this blog post to explain my project, {365}.

I wanted to look at what a snapshot is. A simple photograph taken to not be an artistic master piece, but a way of remembering, of preserving our simpleton lives.

I make art to remember who we are.

I have an iPhone that I used to take at least 1 photograph everyday and posted here on my {365} blog. I cannot say these are pictures worth looking at. Honestly, they are nothing more than an experiment of investigating what it means to remember through simplistic imagery.

Through the past year, this project has been daunting, but I completed it. I stuck to it. I am happy to have done it, but I am happy to be free of it. However, I am interested in what this will teach me in the {365} days.
